Geaux Tigers

"Missing someone isn't about how long it has been since you've been with them or the amount of time since you've talked. It's about that very moment when you're doing something and wish they were right there with you."

Well, Bert had his first week off last week, that he has had off in a long time.

He went back to work tonight. I found myself telling the cats, it's okay he will be home in the morning. The cats of course, love their daddy like I do. And they knew he was going back to work when his alarm went off this afternoon. After not hearing the alarm all week, they knew what that meant. We were going to a gig, and wouldn't be home until late at night, or he was going to work and wouldn't be back until the sun comes up in the morning. All of our habits change when Bert goes back to work. The cats lay and sleep in different spots, and Maggie our 11 year old lab, stays under my feet. Not to mention the cats go around the house howling (meowing) in every room and aren't satisfied until they hear me say, it's going to be alright. Your Daddy will be home in the morning!

I found myself missing Bert and wishing he was here when I went to try and find the sport channels on our tv. Since we have moved, I can't find any regular channel I used to watch. We now have direct tv and used to have on demand. Leave it to a man to not have any trouble finding sports channels. As today is the big BCS GAME! I don't even feel right watching football alone. I always watch games with Bert. I never watched football before Bert. (Even though, I was always an Auburn Fan!) But now I live in a house divided. He is a HUGE LSU fan. And with him being at work for this game, it doesn't feel like a divided house =c. Know what I mean?

  1. Awww. It's hard adjusting to new schedules and routines when you are just getting settled in. That's kind of how I felt after Christmas break was over. Everyone back to school and work. *sigh* It will take a week or so, but you'll get back in the groove!

  2. have you ever had one of those days when you want to get everything done but can't decide what to do, so nothing gets done? I've decided to have one of those. Bert will be off another week again. I can't find myself to get back on track with anything. Our dog got used to him being here, and now that he is gone, she wants in and out every fifteen minutes! *prayers* for you too!
